FAQs
Will my insurance cover my damaged roof?
As a homeowner, insurance claims can be stressful. Going over your insurance policy can help you better understand what is covered and what is not. The dwelling coverage portion of your policy covers the roof of your home. Typically, policies cover sudden and accidental damages such as wind, fire, hail, or the weight of snow, but may also cover ageing issues as well (this is uncommon but not rare). Our experts know how to deal with insurance companies whether you need a partial or full replacement. Insurance companies. Because insurance companies are businesses, they don't always have your best interest at heart. It's wise to get a quote from an insured professional rather than multiple quotes because your insurance company may pick the cheaper quote and give a payout based on that. Getting an estimate from On Top will ensure that you are quoted the best market price for materials and labor, plus with our Lifetime Warranty, you'll be covered!

What is Insurance Fraud and how can I avoid committing it?
Just like car insurance, homeowner insurance companies require you as a consumer to pay a deductible, which is your share of costs for the damages. The amount of your deductible can be based on your state and what kind of coverage you carry. For example, let's say your deductible is $1,000 and the insurance company quotes your full roof replacement at $15,000. They will send you a check for $14,000, which is $1,000 less the fair-trade price and the amount of your deductible. The insurance company fully expects the entire amount to be used on the roof and does not condone you doing the work yourself or finding ways around spending less as they will still need to insure the new roof and its materials as well.

The good news is, we at On Top offer several ways for you to put that money back into your pocket, such as senior and military discounts plus a referral-based pay system. Just ask us!
What happens if the materials to repair my roof are unavailable?
If certain materials are unavailable (such as slate tile, for example), your insurance company is responsible for replacing the entire roof with materials that are available so as not to compromise the integrity of your roof. On Top Ohio will be able to go over all materials being used to replace the unavailable materials.
What types of things could not be covered by my insurance?
Every homeowner's insurance policy is different regarding what is covered and what is not. You may find that your policy only has "actual cash value" coverage for wind and hail damage if your roof is too old to qualify for replacement value coverage. In this case, the insurance company will only pay for the cash value of your roof, which means you as the consumer will need to come up with the difference. Most insurance companies also don't cover damages caused by lack of maintenance or normal wear and tear over time. This can also cause issues for you even after a storm. If it's found that proper maintenance was not done before the storm, you may have an issue getting full reimbursement. On Top Ohio also does free estimates on regular roof, gutter, and siding maintenance. Schedule your free estimate here!
Why is it important to get my gutters cleaned regularly?
Just like preventative care maintenance or well visits with, it's important to have your gutters inspected and cleaned regularly. This will help repair any small damages that will be big problems later one. Leaves, acorns, and other natural debris can make it into your gutters and create a dam which will stop the flow of water. The water has to go somewhere, and the overflow can damage parts of your roof, siding, or even your foundation in bad cases.
Do you offer financing? What payment methods do you accept?
While we do not have financing, most banking institutions offer Home Improvement Loans for their members. You can also apply for a Home Equity Loan through your mortgage service provider. On Top Ohio accepts payments via cash, personal checks, money order, and Paypal, which can be used to pay with credit or with debit cards.
